In the old system, copy the existing hardware profile and load generic Microsoft drivers for the mass storage controller and other hardware that is changing. Name this profile; eg "Generic Hardware" 2. Copy the generic profile to create a Hardware Profile for the new system. Name this profile; eg "NewMotherboard".

did you friend remove the Hardware Profiles? Is there any error message when computer starts up? Please right click My Computer, click Properties. Click Hardware -> Hardware Profiles. Is it blank? If there is one profile, please check "Select the first profile listed if I don't select a profile".
